Auto-biography

If you were to write an auto-biography, would you be happy with the book you wrote? The stories it contained?

Have you done everything to your best? Have you been happy? Have you travelled like you dreamt? Spent like you desired? Loved? Laughed over the silly mistakes that have happened, and cried over things that you risked?

In life it is easy to fall into a routine, a pattern that seems normal.. but there is nothing normal about routine, it is simply a question of perspective. We justify our lives based on this routine: you work 9-5 so you no longer have time to follow your hearts desires: to go that concert you have always dreamt of going to, of making that last minute holiday or time to see that old friend... Whatever it is, we are often so involved in this routine, of planning for the future, that we stop living the present.

Life is as much of a routine as we make it. Life is what we make of it. So, I ask the same question again: if you were to write your auto-biography, would you be happy with the stories you have to share? Or could you have lived more?  What would you change?

Circumstances allowing, we should always follow our hearts desires. You never know when that opportunity will arise again, and you will know one thing for certain: you did what made you happy, and nothing is worth more than true happiness.

Next time an opportunity emerges, embark on the train. Follow your heart and simply be happy. Everything always turns out for the best, we just have to be willing to recognise that!
